Executive 9 Hole Scramble
The Villages Singles Club plays our monthly 9 hole scramble the first Saturday of each
month on different Executive Courses in The Villages, usually between 466 and 466A.
Tee times for around 10:10 are requested on Tuesday with no earlier than 9:45 am and
no later then 11:30. Tee times, course assignments, teams and team captains will be
emailed Wednesday or Thursday prior to golf. When you get the teams, call your team
captain, the first person on the list, to let him/her know you will be there. After golf we
will meet at Arnold Palmer CC for lunch. We have reservations either outside on the
breezeway or inside in the Oak Room. If you cannot play, please call your captain or
email me so I can find a sub for you. Do not cancel your tee time.
There are no requirements for our scramble. Hit the best shot each time. All golfers
should decide on the best shot to use. Less experienced golfers should hit first (in my
opinion). Please choose clubs and hit in a timely manner so your group keeps up pace
of play. Golfers can play from any tees, but must use the same tee for the entire round.
Super Seniors (75+) may hit from the forward tees. Please putt until the ball goes in the
hole! Closest to the pin prize may be awarded to a golfer who has a shot 2 feet or
closer to any pin (on the drive, of course). Please record the distance on your card and
notify Judi when you hand in your scorecard. If you have a small tape measure, bring it
along.
The first person listed in your group is the captain. Each player should notify the
captain that he/she will play on Saturday. Captains should collect $2 from each
golfer, keep the team score, and bring the score card to lunch with the prize money.
Captains, if you do not hear from your teammates, please call them to be sure
each will be there. The "no" following some names means that person will not have a
golf cart for the day. Golfers who do not have a cart should be able to ride with a
teammate. If you need to ride, be sure to let your captain know, so it can be worked
out. If any group should end up with only three golfers, alternate the fourth shot in this
manner: golfer one, holes 1, 4, and 7; golfer two on holes 2, 5, and 8; golfer three on
holes 3, 6, and 9. Determine the order before teeing off.
Golfers should arrive at the course 30 minutes prior to the tee time, so you can get
checked in and be ready to play 20 minutes before your scheduled time.
You can call 753-4653 (golf) as early as Wednesday to get your tee time for Saturday.
